This piece, "female," was improvised by Mr. Sagae when he first came to the GILLGILL workshop. This month marks exactly one year since the monthly Garage Kit started in November 2019. When we started, there were very few opportunities to sell garage kits, a few events a year were the main place. In that ,The Monthly Garage Kit, a project to sell a new garage kit every month online, was a difficult challenge. 　 Mr. Sagae, who loved interesting challenges and was always exploring the possibilities of sculpture, would have enjoyed the idea of a "Monthly Garage Kit" if he were still alive. In 2020, a new corona virus suddenly spread across the country and many garage kit events were cancelled. Sculptors were forced to sell their garage kits online. Now, every month someone's new garage kit is sold online. If Mr. Sagae were around in this day and age, what would he try to do? I'm sure that's what the Sculptors will show us in the future as they carry on Sagae's legacy. We'll be taking a break from the Monthly Garage Kit after this month. The actual product will be a garage kit. It is divided into multiple parts and has a surplus called burrs or runners attached to it. It will need to be assembled and painted in order to look like the images shown here. Please correct any bumps or bubbles made on the parts with putty or the like. In order to assemble the product, shaft the joint with aluminum wire or glue. The mold release material may be attached, so please clean it well before painting.
