I chose Chinese — both musically and in script — not for exoticism, but for truth. In Chinese culture, 山 (mountain) and 河 (river) are more than just elements of geography. They are symbols of resilience and flow, stillness and passage. Their union is poetic, spiritual, and deeply human. I believe that music should carry meaning not only in sound but also in intention. With this composition, I honour someone whose presence feels like a river to my mountain — or a mountain to my river. In that meeting, there is no need for explanation. Just resonance.
