龍祀り「九頭龍一体図」
作品解説
九頭龍をあえて９つの頭に分割し、 ９枚一連の「一体図」として描いた象徴的な作品です。 それぞれの龍に意味を持たせ、 螺旋状に連なる配置によって「円環＝無限」を表現しました。 上下左右に位置する龍は、東西南北を睨む外向的、力の象徴として「阿形」。 中央と斜めに並ぶ龍は、内向的な、守りの象徴として「吽形」。 内省や自省の象徴ともなります。 そしてこれらの阿吽の連なりは、中央の龍から始めればどの龍に進んでも必ず交互に阿吽を結ぶように連なっており、これが２面性の象徴にもなっています。 それぞれが独立した象徴として成立しつつ、 ９枚が揃うことでひとつの結界として完成する、 九頭龍の形を借りた小さな“結界”です。 この作品は、私が龍の連作を描き始めるきっかけとなった一枚でもあります。 今回の「龍祀り」の中心にある象徴作品として、ぜひご覧ください。

“Ryu-Matsuri” — Nine-Headed Dragon Unified Composition This work depicts a “Nine-Headed Dragon” intentionally divided into nine separate heads, arranged as a single unified composition. Each dragon carries a symbolic meaning, and the spiral arrangement suggests an “infinite circle,” an unending cycle. The dragons positioned at the upper, lower, left, and right represent the outward, forceful aspect known as Agyō, watching over the four directions. The central and diagonal dragons represent the inward, protective aspect known as Ungyō, symbolizing introspection and inner reflection. Beginning from the central dragon, the sequence alternates—Agyō, Ungyō, Agyō, Ungyō—no matter which direction you continue. This structure expresses the duality and paired nature of these two forces. While each piece stands as an independent symbol, the composition is only completed when all nine are placed together, becoming a small ritual space— a symbolic kekkai (sacred boundary) shaped through the figure of the Nine-Headed Dragon. This piece was the starting point of my dragon series— the origin of this entire “Ryu-Matsuri” project. I hope you will sense the quiet presence and dual nature of this symbolic work.

Based on the symbolism of the number nine in the Nine-Headed Dragon, and the Japanese cultural association of eight (∞) with infinity, the complete unified artwork is offered at 80,000 JPY.
