Marissa: An Adoptable fully rigged Wolf3d VRM Model
- ¥ 0
And today's experiment with the craft of vtubing is upon us again. This is Marissa. She's fully rigged for Arkit, with hand-coded blend shapes, including a couple of custom ones.
Where this model came from
There's a funny story behind this one. I saw this meme last night, where somebody decided to run the faceapp gender filter against white jesus, and what came out was this really cool looking woman. She had the nicest symmetry in her face. Faceapp really is magic. Anyway, I saw that, and I was goofing around on ReadyPlayerMe, when I got the idea to see what happened if I ran white girl Jesus through the character generator. And this model is basically what came out. I changed her hair and clothing, added some makeup. But yeah. And she mostly looks like the white girl jesus from the picture, which is an added bonus. Mainly, I was just really impressed with how cute this one was, so it made sense that I was going to experiment with her.
My evil experiments
So I've been trying to learn the craft of vtubing. As both sort of technical skill, and a creative one. There are a lot of options. One thing I've wanted to do since I started this, was take one of these pretty ReadyPlayerMe models, and port her over to vrm, but I've been having trouble, mostly because I didn't understand Unity well enough. But tonight, I broke through that barrier, I think. I now understand the basics of Blendshapes on VRM models in Unity, and I can now make cool stuff like this.
Usage
No real restrictions really. Have fun, be cute, do what you do. I would love to know how she handles for you. Feel free to adopt her and do whatever.
Plans
I'm going to leave this base model up, but my plan for the next month is to gradually add features, like more sophisticated emotes, and all the really fun stuff as I figure out how to do it. So keep your eyes peeled. Also, I talk about my tinkering on twitter constantly. So that's a good place to keep up with that sort of thing.
Instructions
No special instructions. If you're here, I'm assuming you already know how to load and use a vrm file. Now have fun babies, love ya!
