This is the finished version of the headphone amplifier I designed. 【Overview】 This is a high-performance headphone amplifier that uses the LT1399 — a high-speed current-feedback op-amp originally designed for analog video — in the output stage. It offers excellent driving capability. In basic testing, it achieved THD -100dB with a 30Ω / 1000pF load and a 1Vpp rise time of 400ns. Additionally, by optimizing the GND layout from the previous version, crosstalk has been improved to -71dB. Battery life is approximately 24 hours (based on alkaline batteries). 【About the Finished Product】 This is a fully assembled, ready-to-use product. Here are the differences from the kit version: ・Uses an authentic ALTOIDS mint tin (choose from red, blue, or green). ・Features a premium machined aluminum volume knob. ・Equipped with a high-quality volume pot with a switch, allowing power ON/OFF without opening the tin. ・Uses chip resistors for better noise performance. ・Power supply uses Panasonic ECHU film capacitors and ELNA SILMIC II audio-grade electrolytic capacitors (SILMIC II are dead-stock parts and available only while supplies last). ・Includes the same assembly manual and explanatory article as the kit version. 【About the ALTOIDS Mint Tin】 Because these are vintage tins, there may be variations in condition such as surface rust, scratches, dents, or slight differences in the color of the bottom (more gold or silver tone).
