A standard finished product without the boost board is also available separately. 【VALKYRIE 1399 - Low Distortion Headphone Amplifier (Finished Product)】 Hello, my name is Takeyabu. This is the finished version of the headphone amplifier I designed. 【Overview】 This is a high-performance headphone amplifier that uses the LT1399 — a high-speed current-feedback op-amp originally designed for analog video — in the output stage. It offers excellent driving capability. In basic testing, it achieved THD -100dB with a 30Ω / 1000pF load and a 1Vpp rise time of 400ns. Additionally, by optimizing the GND layout from the previous version, crosstalk has been improved to -71dB. Battery life is approximately 6 hours when using the 12V boost board (based on alkaline batteries). 【About the Finished Product】 This is a fully assembled, ready-to-use product. Here are the differences from the kit version: ・Uses an authentic ALTOIDS mint tin (choose from red, blue, or green). ・Features a premium machined aluminum volume knob. ・Equipped with a high-quality volume pot with a switch, allowing power ON/OFF without opening the tin. ・Uses chip resistors for better noise performance. ・Power supply uses Panasonic ECHU film capacitors and ELNA SILMIC II audio-grade electrolytic capacitors (SILMIC II are dead-stock parts and available only while supplies last). ・Includes the same assembly manual and explanatory article as the kit version. ・Comes with the boost converter board pre-installed. Also includes 3 different op-amps for listening comparisons and jumper wires. 【About This Boost Version】 Compared to the standard finished product, this version has been further upgraded by adding a 12V boost converter board (custom-made by Yasushi @yasushi_tech ) and my original active noise filter. For easy A/B comparison with the standard version, the following items are also included: ・Two high-voltage op-amps (M5223, uPC4572) ・One low-voltage op-amp (LME49721) Cannot be used when the boost board is installed ・Two jumper wires (one spare) required when not using the boost board Please be sure to read the included assembly manual and explanatory article, as improper handling may damage components. 【About the ALTOIDS Mint Tin】 Because these are vintage tins, there may be variations in condition such as surface rust, scratches, dents, or slight differences in the color of the bottom (more gold or silver tone).
