Painting is a fun pastime in VRChat worlds, but there are three big flaws that sour the experience for some players that the (Just)Painting system solves! One, your paintings aren't actually synchronized in almost every system! Most systems work by having a flat camera that records the brush movements over time, which slowly builds up inconsistencies from tracking lag and frame drops, not to mention, late joining breaks down entirely. This system isn't real-time like others, but once your painting dries, it updates for everyone with the true image! Two, when you leave, your paintings are gone. More experienced painters may have grown used to the idea of starting over, but even so sometimes you get something you're proud of. Well, this system has persistence! Paint, leave, come back to it later! Just make sure to let your paint dry before you leave, as that's when the system's save kicks in. And three, most systems lack desktop controls! A bit less common of a complaint in a VR centric game, but when I go to painting places in desktop, I can't participate! At least, with most painting systems. The painting system was also designed around a few more physical and realistic nuances of painting, which take a bit of practice. The brush dries, you'll have to do individual strokes on the canvas, the canvas itself stays wet until you let it dry, and other smaller details that have less impact.
