Initially, when I posted progress on X (formerly Twitter), the response was nearly nonexistent, and I had no intention of printing it. However, thanks to the advice and encouragement from my Taiwanese friends, colleagues, and even many people in Taiwan whom I had never met, I felt compelled to bring this model into physical form and decided to print and mass-produce it for exhibition at a Taiwan modeling event. Not only was it my first time using zbrush, but rather than focusing solely on sculpting itself, I spent an extensive amount of time researching motorcycle design, props, and various elements of Taiwanese things that serve as the background. Before I knew it, three years had passed. I meticulously calculated engine output, RPM, gear ratios, tire diameter, weight, frontal projected area, and top speed to ensure no contradictions in their relationships. I researched different generations of Taiwanese license plates, manhole covers, prohibited character strings, fashion and beauty culture, Taiwanese food delivery industry, road markings, and even delved into the history of education and educational institutions in Taiwan and Japan to ensure that every detail was as accurate as possible. For the final sample painting, I received significant help from a Taiwanese friend who works as a model. In the end, we celebrated the completion together at a bar on LinSen North Road in Taipei, admiring the finished piece in person. As a result, this kit became something deeply personal and meaningful to me. However, perhaps my overwhelming love for Taiwan was too much for the locals—because the reception in Taiwan itself was rather lackluster. That said, the story didn’t end there. Word spread, and my company’s internal PR magazine came to interview me. The piece was also featured in Japanese model magazine, and eventually, a Chinese manufacturer reached out to me, leading to the resin-cast kit version that I am presenting this time. The original hybrid kit, a mix of 3D printed and resin-cast parts, was a labor of blood, sweat, and vomit—making each piece valuable. However, mass-producing the highly complicated 74 pcs (at the time) kit was a tough work that pushed me to my limits, which made large quantities production difficult. Please don’t miss this chance. ■Notes - This item requires assembly and painting. - The parts of this item are made with resin casting.
