** English below ---------------------------------------------- VIRGULA SANA 改 　1/12スケール 　高さ：17.5cm 　パーツ数：31 ■作品について 2017年に初出しとなった「Virgula Sana」．「virgula」はラテン語で記号の「コンマ」を意味し，ウィルグラと読むそうです（2017年のぼくがそう説明しています）．しかし当時，ぼくを含め誰もこれを音読する気がせず，同時多発的に複数の人が単に「サナさん」と呼んだことから，作者本人もそれに倣うようになりました． キャラ誕生のきっかけは，アメコミ好きな知人と共通コンセプトでWFに出展しようという話が持ち上がり，ぼくがヒロイン担当になったことです．その際，どうやらアメコミ業界においては，キャラクターのバックグラウンドが重要視される傾向にあり，製作にあたっても何かそれらしいものを考えなくてはいけない，ということでした．そういうわけで，彼女は孤児院で唯一打ち解けた親友を奪った闇社会への復讐のため，身寄りのない少年少女を対象とした人体実験計画に志願することになります．その計画とは，太平洋戦争中に日本軍によって開発が進められていた人間兵器化技術を米国が極秘裏に継承したもので，天岩戸伝説で知られる怪力の持ち主，天之手力男神が天降った佐那の地に因み，Project SANA と呼ばれました．胸の三つ巴は佐那神社の社紋，virgulaはコンマ状の形，つまり巴を表すラテン語というわけです... 粗末な物語はさておき，キットは思いがけぬ好評をいただき，生産終了後もチラホラ再販のご要望が寄せられました． 実は2017年版のリリース直後，件のアメコミプロジェクトに拡充の計画があり，このキットも，原型の改修やシリーズ共通ベースへの置き換えを伴って仕切り直す準備を進めていましたが，その後計画は頓挫し，原型も前述の知人に預けたきりとなっていました．今回，実に9年の時を経て2026年版をご案内する運びとなります． 2017年版は分割の少ない自家複製品でしたが，2026年版では知人による原型の分割改修を受け，複製も外部業者へ発注することで，格段に塗装しやすく一部コンプライアンスにも配慮された高品質なキットへと生まれ変わりました．ベースは幻のシリーズ共通品．さらに頭部パーツは，2017年版のものに加え，今回新たにデジタル造形したものを差し替え式として付属しています． ところで作品名が大文字に変わっているのは，2017年版の説明書のタイトルが手違いで大文字だったのをそのまま参照してSNSに投稿してしまい，今さら修正するのが面倒になったためです！ ■ご注意 ・本製品は未塗装未組立のガレージキットです． ・本製品のパーツはレジンキャスト品です．パーツにはバリ、気泡などがございますので，必要に応じて修正ください． ・本製品のコピーや転売はおやめください． ---------------------------------------------- VIRGULA SANA Kai 　1:12 scale 　Height : 17.5cm 　Number of parts : 31 ■About “Virgula Sana” was first released in 2017. “Virgula” is apparently the Latin word for the punctuation mark “comma”. However, this word was difficult for Japanese to pronounce, whether in Latin or English, and several people simply started calling her “Sana-san.” Before long, I also followed suit. The character came about when my friend who loves American comics suggested that we exhibit at Wonder Festival under a shared concept, with me taking charge of the heroine. I was told that, in the American comic scene, a character’s background tends to be considered important, and that I would therefore need to come up with something suitably story for her creation. And so, in order to take revenge on the underworld that took away the only close friend she had made at the orphanage, she volunteers for a human experimentation program targeting orphaned boys and girls. The program was a top-secret American continuation of human weaponization technology originally developed by the Japanese military during the Pacific War. It was named Project SANA after the region of Sana, where Ame-no-Tajikarao—the deity of immense strength known from the legend of Ama-no-Iwato—is said to have descended from heaven. The triple tomoe on her chest is the crest of Sana Shrine, while “virgula” is the Latin word used here to refer to the comma-like shape of the tomoe... Setting that rather crude story aside, the kit was unexpectedly well received, and I continued to receive occasional requests for a reissue after production had ended. In fact, shortly after the release of the 2017 version, there were plans to expand the American-comic-inspired project. Preparations were underway to relaunch this kit as well, including revisions to the original sculpt and replacement of the base with a shared base for the series. The project later fell through, however, and the original sculpt remained in the possession of the aforementioned friend. Now, after no less than nine years, I am finally able to present the 2026 version. The 2017 version was self-cast and had relatively few separate parts. For the 2026 version, the original sculpt was revised and divided into additional parts by my friend, while casting was outsourced to a professional manufacturer. As a result, the kit has been reborn as a much higher-quality release that is far easier to paint and also takes certain compliance considerations into account. The base is the long-lost shared design originally intended for the series. In addition to the head part from the 2017 version, the kit also includes a newly digitally sculpted head as an interchangeable option. As for why the title is now written in all capital letters: the title on the 2017 instruction sheet was accidentally written that way, and I unknowingly copied it when posting about the kit on X. By the time I realized it, correcting it felt like more trouble than it was worth! ■Notes - This product requires assembly and painting. - The parts of this product are made with resin casting.
