HoloScanner is a prop powered by a shader that will make your avatars and worlds more interactive~ With it, you can capture anything inside the bounding box as a 3D, interactive photograph or as a livestreamed hologram! Think of it like taking a photo of your friends.. but instead of a flat image, you capture every angle. You can have a memory you can walk around, a real-time hologram of your friend dancing, or really anything you wanna capture. 📸 😵💫 How does it work? - It works for both avatars and worlds! - Anything inside the bounding box (the box with the blue outlines, but you can change this or even make it invisible) is fed to the shader. - You can either take a static photo (freeze the hologram on a specific moment you capture) or have a real-time stream fed to the hologram (so the hologram contiously reflects what's in the bounding box). - The shader takes that information and reconstructs it as a 3D, interactive hologram! - But if this sounds like it would be something hard to set up.. no fear! It has an easy drag-and-drop install and has a Modular Avatar prefab if desired. - Basically: anything inside box becomes hologram. 🌈 What features does HoloScanner have? - Fully control what the hologram looks like, from size to rotation to colour. You can even make it float or spin. - Proximity allows you to hide the hologram for people too far away or too close. - With monochrome and fresnel lighting, you can give your hologram a sci-fi feel. - Object occlusion lets your hologram interact with the world, and object intersection lets your hologram light up a colour when it's touched. - A *lot* of special effects you can apply: scanlines, distortions, glitch, ghost, wireframe, point cloud, voxelization, waves, and clone. - Make the hologram smoothly appear (or disappear) with a 3D dissolve effect! - AudioLink support! 12 different modes that lets the music control your hologram (for instance, changing the size of it or making it glitch to the beat). - Performance cautious: a configurable quality slider and tricks like dithering to help keep your computer happy (although, in my testing, it seems to be fine to have higher quality holograms even live-streaming). - You can change the dimensions of the bounding box if you want, you can change the render texture resolution (easily with one click in the UI), and more. 🎁What's in the Unity package? - Everything comes set up for you! There's a prefab for Modular Avatar, a prefab for using it in worlds, and a prefab for manually adding it to your avatar. - But, of course, I made sure it's all organised and carefully laid out so that power users can customise to their hearts desire! - Everything is fully documented! Taking photos is already fun, so it's only natural it's more fun with an extra dimension added to it. Note: The personal license is for using it on your own stuff, but the commercial license lets you redistribute it in transformative commercial works (ex. on an avatar you sell) or in works that you profit from (ex. a world using it profiting).
