Forced-haircut manga — it works best when the innocent bow. Koharu Makabe, 23, is a rookie at Heishindo, a proxy-apology agency. Her back-length chestnut hair took ten years to grow — it's her calling card. At her interview, President Mido told her: "Your hair? Keep it as it is." Her first job: a proxy press conference for a major developer over Grand Ciel, a defective condo tower. Forty reporters, twelve cameras. She bows deep — and her low ponytail slides off her shoulder and spills over the microphones. The residents' representative speaks into the silence: "You'd apologize hiding your face behind your hair?" The conference is halted for thirty minutes. In the greenroom, Mido says: "Cut it. Zero millimeters." Penalty fees, student loans, money she sends home — there was only ever one choice. Her senior Himuro, shaved bald herself, seats her facing away from the mirror. Shears from the right, from behind, from the left. Clippers in at the forehead hairline; sides and back down to bare skin. A flat top, squared corners. And then: "The sideburns come off on stage. In front of the cameras." Back to the hall, still in the white cape. Under the flashes, foam and a razor draw one straight line above each ear. A dogeza on the stage floor — scored "Eighty points. Your forehead was lifted." A stranger in her first mirror. A ride home where hiding is forbidden. A razor every morning. A new photo on her staff ID. - Full color, 31 pages / 130 panels - Final style: a flat-top crew cut — 0 mm sides, a flat stubble top with the scalp showing through, sideburns razored into a straight line above the ears - Art style: near-photographic painted full color - All characters are adults (18+); Koharu is 23 - Non-sexual: no nudity — the story is about the haircut itself - Fiction: all companies, events and characters are invented - Illustrations were created with the help of AI image generation.
