English Description

WORKING FROGS — KAERU KAMISHIBAI Long ago in Japan, a kamishibai storyteller would arrive in the neighborhood by bicycle, gather the children around, and tell illustrated stories using a little wooden theater. And apparently, at least one of those storytellers was a frog. Welcome to Kaeru Kamishibai. On the front cover, our frog storyteller is a model professional. The wooden theater is ready. The lanterns are up. The children have gathered. He tells his stories with great enthusiasm, like a true master of his craft. Then the show ends. The children go home. And so does his motivation. Turn the notebook over and you’ll find our hardworking storyteller taking a very important watermelon break. The theater can wait. Cleaning up can wait. The watermelon cannot. Perhaps he’ll pack everything away later. Perhaps tomorrow. The design is filled with nostalgic details inspired by old Showa-era Japan: a traditional wooden kamishibai theater, bicycle, lanterns, banners, an old-fashioned neighborhood, and even Mt. Fuji in the distance. The front cover features a retro-style “Kaeru Kamishibai Work Log” label, inspired by old Japanese workplace notebooks. Use it as a work log, diary, idea book, hobby journal, memo book—or simply a place to write down all the things you were definitely going to do before taking a break. Story first. Watermelon second. Cleaning up... eventually. Another highly professional day in the Working Frogs Work Log Series. Kamishibai is a traditional Japanese form of street storytelling using illustrated picture cards and a small wooden theater. This product is manufactured by pixivFACTORY.
