Forced-haircut manga — from tonight, you're the one they laugh at. Suzu Takanashi, 22, is the trapeze star of the touring Washio Grand Circus. Her waist-length red-brown hair draws a line across the sky every time she flies — it's half of her act. Her late mother brushed it a hundred times every night, and seventy percent of her mother's hospital bill is still in the troupe's ledger. Dawn at the station. Seven minutes until the first train. Suzu tries to slip away with a single suitcase, and is caught on the platform. Ringmaster Washio's sentence: "From tonight, you're a clown." That night, at the top of the second half, a tub and a chair wait in the center ring. Ordered by Toki, the veteran clown, Suzu must wash her own hair into a mountain of foam in front of the audience — "the Star's Shampoo Show" — while the crowd roars, thinking it's all part of the act. Then the shears take her long hair from the right, from behind, from the left; the clippers go in at the forehead hairline, over the top to the crown; foam and a razor finish the scalp smooth as an egg, and what's left at the sides is backcombed into two round puffs — a clown cut. A red nose, white circles, a painted teardrop. A stranger in the mirror. Applause for Serika, the partner who inherits the headline slot. A broom to sweep up her own hair. And new posters, pasted all over town. - Full color, 32 pages / 130 panels - Final style: a clown cut — front, top and crown shaved bare (bangs included), the sides backcombed into round puffs - Art style: fine pen lines with transparent watercolor - All characters are adults (18+); Suzu is 22 - Non-sexual: no nudity — the story is about the haircut itself - Fiction: the circus and all characters are invented - Illustrations were created with the help of AI image generation.
