Forced-haircut manga — the haircut she laughed at is hers now. Ruri Jougasaki, 25, was the only daughter of the third president of Jougasaki Trading, a hundred-year-old firm. Waist-length honey-brown curls, and her late grandmother's velvet headband. "Your hair is the face of the Jougasaki name," her mother used to say with pride. Then the company was bought out by an upstart IT firm. Her father collapsed, the estate was sold, and her mother moved into a care home. Rejected by fifty employers, Ruri interviews for a clerk's job at her father's old headquarters — and the president waiting for her is Aoi Morishita, daughter of the family's live-in housekeeper. As children, Ruri laughed at Aoi's kitchen-scissor bowl cut: "So poor-looking!" Terms of employment, Clause Three: "Leave behind the symbol of the former president's family." Her mother's care fees are three months overdue. Refuse, and her mother is out. The company barber, Mr. Eto, picks up his shears. Below the jaw — right, back, left. A bowl line high above the ears. Bangs well above the brows. Beside the mirror stands a photo: Aoi as a child, from behind. Below the line, the clippers. Aoi makes the last stroke with her own hand. Then foam and a razor. Watching through the glass: the directors, and her father's former staff. "Open your eyes, Miss Ruri. ...There. Now we match." A tearful apology with her forehead on the floor. Her own hand on the shaved skin, and the words she is made to say aloud. A photo for the company newsletter. A trim every morning. "Miss Ruri" becomes "Ms. Jougasaki." - Full color, 34 pages / 130 panels - Final style: a high-undercut bowl cut — a level line circling well above the ears, everything below it razored smooth, blunt bangs well above the brows - Art style: pen-and-marker full color on white, in a cover-illustration look - All characters are adults (18+); Ruri is 25 and Aoi is 27. Childhood flashbacks never show the children's faces - Non-sexual: no nudity — the story is about the haircut itself - Fiction: all companies and characters are invented - Illustrations were created with the help of AI image generation.
