Through her investigations, she becomes convinced that the key to returning home lies somewhere beyond the white fog. At last, she reveals the truth to Tio—that she is a traveler from another world and has been searching for a way back to her own. The revelation shocks Tio. Although he understands why Karen must pursue the Sea of White Mist, he cannot bear the thought of losing her. Unable to sleep and overwhelmed by fear, he secretly takes and hides the Nereis Suit in a desperate attempt to stop her from leaving. The next morning, Karen discovers the missing equipment and confronts him. What begins as an argument quickly escalates into an emotional clash between Karen, who is determined to return home, and Tio, who desperately wants her to stay. In a moment of frustration and hurt, Karen loses control and slaps him. Both are left burdened with regret. But before they can fully reconcile, the Sea of White Mist appears once again—larger and more ominous than ever before. Realizing this may be her only chance to return home, Karen resolves to go even without her equipment. Seeing her determination, Tio finally returns the Nereis Suit and entrusts her with a single heartfelt request: **“Come back alive.”** After making peace with one another, Karen enters the Sea of White Mist once more.
