However, the ferry bound for Tokyo is canceled due to bad weather, leaving her stranded on the island. With time on her hands, Karen borrows an old set of scuba gear used by the local fishermen and begins diving again. Without her cutting-edge Ocean Phantom or any support equipment, she finds herself using a traditional diving table for the first time in years, planning her dives manually and enjoying the sea. During one of these dives, she discovers a mysterious underwater cave in the waters north of the island. As her investigation progresses, she discovers signs of artificial construction and fresh traces of human activity. When a local fisherman named Tokuji suddenly disappears, her suspicions begin to harden into certainty. Beyond the cave lie unmistakable signs that someone has been using the area, and hidden beneath the sea rests a vast structure that appears to be a former naval facility. Unbeknownst to Karen, as she continues her investigation, she herself begins to come under the watchful eyes of an unknown adversary. What was supposed to be a peaceful island vacation gradually develops into a mysterious incident that threatens to engulf the entire island.
